🍇 Have you heard of the grapes Pallagrello Bianco and Casavecchia?
🇮🇹 These are two unique Campanian varieties that thrive in volcanic soils. There are only a handful of producers working with these grapes and @cantinealois is one of the benchmarks.
🍷 It was a real treat to finally meet proprietor Massimo as he walked me through the estate. At the end of the visit, he took me for a memorable dinner and a vertical tasting of these two grapes.

🍷 Massimo, the proprietor of @cantinealois took us to restaurant that opened specially for us. There he opened several vintages of his Paragrello Bianco and Casavecchia.
🍇 During an evening of discussion and discovery, I concluded that the rare red grape Casavecchia is truly a great variety. With it’s dense color and rich dark fruit and smoky flavors - it reminds me a tad bit of Syrah.
