The vineyard sits at 900m, soils composed limestone and 30 per cent volcanic. A wine of fine but full and present tannin, formerly angular and green but now rendering, the aromatics are perfumed in a pleasant way, but have one sip and let this linger in mouth to find those tough tannins still in charge. Le Campole is the larger hill, perhaps from “Il Campo,” the field. The only grower on Campole. The first levels of Alois structure are right here. Drink 2019-2022. Tasted October 2017.
