Rowena Dumlao Giardina about Alois Wines

Alois, created by Michele Alois in 1992 has put the first bottles of Casavecchia i the market in 2000. After thirty years of experimentation, reviving old extinct varieties, the family decided to promote a selection of three “cru wines”, coming from the most suitable vineyards, subjected to more than 10 years of study and research. Falanghina and Pallagrello Bianco are the only two white grape varieties grown by Alois. Pallagrello Bianco assumes historical importance by virtue of its now certain presence in the vineyards that the Bourbons had built at the foot of Monte San Leucio and Monte Briano near the Royal Palace of Caserta. Casavecchia, Aglianico and Pallagrello Nero are the three reds produced by the winery.
These are photos over a visit of tasting wines with their oenologist Giovanni Piccirillo and Massimo Alois, and a dinner spread prepared by Massimo’s wife Talita. Over the years, Alois has received various awards and recognition for their wines.
